ORIENTA, Okla. -- FBI agents have been involved in a shootout while serving an arrest warrant for a man out of Jacksonville, Florida. The man opened fire on the agents and is now dead.
They say they do not know why the suspect was in Oklahoma.
The Caucasian man was 30 to 50 years old, 5'6" with a medium build and authorities say he was considered mentally unstable.
Authorities were tracking him in connection with the detonation of a pipe bomb at the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida on May 10, 2010.
They say he was carrying bomb-making materials and other weapons, among them an AK-47.
The FBI was offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for this crime.
